Following the success of MOEDERmonologen, which drew virtually full crowds throughout the Netherlands and sparked much discussion, the creators are now turning their attention to a new theme that touches almost everyone: the secrets kept within families.

Every family has its own stories. Stories that are told time and time again, but also stories that are, in fact, carefully kept hidden. In Familiegeheimen, Renate Reijnders and Jennifer Evenhuis explore what happens when those hidden histories do come to light. With humour, emotion and a keen insight into human relationships, they present a performance that feels deeply personal and lingers in the mind long afterwards.

“Almost every family has stories that aren’t talked about,” says Jennifer Evenhuis. “It is precisely behind those silences that the most extraordinary, painful or loving stories are often hidden,” adds Renate Reijnders.

One guest actress takes part in each performance, giving every evening its own unique dynamic. The guest performers are Tatum Dagelet, Nathalie Baartman, Monic Hendrickx, Margôt Ros, Lucretia van der Vloot, Rian Gerritsen and Malou Gorter.
