Mufaro
On September 19, TOBACCO welcomes Mufaro for an intimate evening filled with soulful melodies, warmth and vulnerability.
Mufaro is an Austrian-born, Zimbabwean artist raised in the Netherlands whose music blends soulful R&B, neo-soul, and jazz influences into a sound that feels warm, healing, and deeply human. With rich vocals and reflective songwriting, she creates what she lovingly calls “lullabies for adults”, music that reconnects listeners to their inner child, softness, and sense of wonder.
After studying Songwriting at Berklee College of Music, Mufaro spent years developing her artistry between Europe and New York, where she worked alongside artists and producers connected to names such as Solange, Sauti Sol, and India Arie. She also worked in production for RAW Artists in New York, taught at Brooklyn School of Rock, and performed backing vocals for notable artists across live and studio settings.
Following a life-changing injury in 2022, music became a pathway back to herself, inspiring the creation of her debut EP Wayfindr. Through rich melodies, warmth, and vulnerability, Mufaro invites listeners into a journey of healing, self-discovery, and empowerment. Her live performances feel intimate and immersive, spaces where audiences can slow down, feel deeply, and reconnect with themselves.
