Hotel Zweefkees in concert (8+!)

Kelly van Kempen en Kelvin Allison

Not a film in concert, but a book in concert! Author Kelly van Kempen, together with Kelvin Allison and his live band, brings the brand-new children's book Hotel Zweefkees to life in a magical and enchanting performance.

Kalani lives with his grandfather in Hotel Zweefkees, the most spectacular home in the world! The hotel is bursting with music and performances, flies to amazing destinations and… is alive. Until the day everything changes.

‘Hotel Zweefkees in Concert’ is an immersive adaptation of the first part of the book. Expect live singing, music, storytelling, acting and projections of the artwork by illustrator Marieke Nelissen. A unique experience for all lovers of children’s literature!

The performance concludes with a Q&A session hosted by Angela Groothuizen, where the audience will also have the opportunity to ask questions.

About the Book
Kelly van Kempen spent four and a half years creating Hotel Zweefkees, a heartfelt tribute to individuality and letting go of other people’s expectations. The book is richly illustrated by Silver Paintbrush Award winner Marieke Nelissen, while Kelvin Allison wrote and composed the story-driven songs featured throughout the book. These songs can be accessed via QR codes included in the publication.

The book is suitable for reading aloud to children aged 7–8 and for independent readers aged 10 to 110!

Take Hotel Zweefkees Home
After the performance, Amsterdam’s children’s bookstore will be present in the studio, offering visitors the opportunity to purchase a copy of *Hotel Zweefkees* and have it personally signed.
