Red Light Jazz - Camille Sledge (Sister Sledge) en Bas van Lier

Get ready for a dazzling live show full of groove, soul, and jazz: Camille Sledge and Bas van Lier join forces at Red Light Jazz with their exciting new project: SledgeLier.
This unique collective not only brings their first joint album Dance, Dance! to life, but also throws in a hefty dose of classic Sister Sledge hits – funky, soulful, and performed with a full band that’s guaranteed to blow the roof off!
The name? Sledgelier – starring the charismatic singer Camille Sledge (daughter of the legendary Debbie Sledge from Sister Sledge) and pianist Bas van Lier, known for his virtuoso playing and deep roots in jazz, funk, and soul. But they’re not alone: Jerome Hol on guitar, Phaedra Kwant on bass, and Cyril Directie on drums complete the band, creating a groove-filled, high-energy sound that’s impossible to resist.
Together, they deliver a show that swings, moves, and surprises. In the heart of the city, the classic hits of Sister Sledge sound like you’ve never heard them before – fresh, bold, and made to dance to.
Red Light Jazz, from June 6 to 8, transforms the Red Light District into a musical playground where tradition and innovation meet. In the spirit of the 1920s and ‘30s, when American sailors brought jazz to Amsterdam, the music returns to where it all began. In this rich, historical setting, Camille and Bas with their band bring a concert that’s not just a feast for the ears, but also a tribute to the history of jazz – and the city.
In short: this is no ordinary performance. Dance, Dance!
